Good stuff.  Thanks for the attachments.  Now I have to decide if I want to go back to the factory black top or keep the color top I purchased it with.  The car was pictured in Hot Rod Magazine December 1986 with the blue top.  The build sheet was not found be me.  It was part of a binder of documents that was passed down from the 1st and 2nd owners.  Again, thank you everyone for your input and guidance.

"only Black, White and Tan Tops were available as Options. "

Tan Tops???

I have never seen a Factory Tan top, nor have I seen it on a '65 or '66 Dealer Order Sheet... This is news to me..

As far as I know, Only Black, White and Blue were Available in '64 1/2 and Early '65.  Regular '65 and '66 Production only saw Black and White colored tops from the factory that I've ever seen.

None of the Original Ford IBM ordering cards never even mention Tan as an option...

Any Tan tops that I have even seen including my own cars... I've always thought that they were just Aftermarket..  I hope that he was not referring to "Off-White" as being Tan..

Tony : I think you have seen too many early 65's.. Besides the documentation that I noted in Reply No. 1, compare the Order Sheet that Charles Posted in Reply No. 14 (dated Jan 1964), with the one that John (67gta289) Posted several years ago  (dated Jun 1964) under the "Buildsheet" Topic. Early shows Blue ; late shows Tan. This is not to say that there were a lot of Tan tops, just that it was one of the choices,

The top on the car does not appear to be original either.  The rear bow finisher is the turnover style instead of 2 piece plastic.

Charles, can you please post a pic of an original top with the original 2 piece finisher?  Thanks.
