I must have got lucky, sent mine to Tim Lancaster at Classic Carb Restorations in North Carolina for a rebuild and it came out of the box running great, no issues with it.

After working dozens of hours on a C8ZF-D 4300, finally threw in the towel and installed a Holley, engine runs perfect.  Couldn't get a smooth idle with the 4300 no matter what I did.

1968 Mustang / Re: Spare Tire Trunk/Gas Tank Board
« Last post by RoyceP on Today at 11:09:14 AM »
Thanks to David Knab for the picture of the trunk board.

Although it's a minor detail, I want to install a trunk board in our 1968 Metuchen Coupe.  After reading some of the associated posts, the board was intended to protect the tank from the jack (?).  Can anyone tell me what the board was made of, and the dimensions?  I haven't found any in supplier websites and it seems easy enough to make.  I have the original trunk mat, and want to add the board.

Thanks everyone.

The board appears to be made from scrap from the fabrication of the rear window filler board. I usually use originals, I don't have one to measure right now but it is around 10" by 12". The material is what I would call fiberboard, it is 1/4" thick and sold at any big box store or hardware store.

Digging around looking for some stuff, went thru my 70 valve covers .....  Here's the best example I have of an original emissions decal on the drivers side cover. (these covers were off a low mileage 70CJ  parted out in 1983 after an accident in the mid 1970's) Every example I have (4-5 sets of covers, pics of about a dozen more) has that chunk of sticker missing over the recess for the valve cover bolt.    John

Very likely the same one(s) from my posting in reply #1 of the linked thread. I sold 5-6 ratchets to that seller.

Thanks for your offer Bob.  The projected build of my car is Aug 12, '66 so your 3 blades may be a bit late, but I appreciate you for looking.
