On my 70 B2 Dearborn car upon disassembly I see what looks to be a white 1/2" stripe paint daub over the FOMOCO logo just above the part number on the front spindle. I'm reading that a yellow stripe is correct for a power steering car. Since mine is a power steering car why would this stripe be white on mine?

The White stripe is residue from the Green tape that was typical on the 70 spindle.

Aw that makes sense. Thank you

Has anyone sourced this green tape. Can't seem to locate a suitable replacement.

Most hardware and places like Orchard Supply carry a green fabric tape that can be spit down the length ( to produce a section that matches the original width and is long enough to go around the spindle upper shaft) to make a substitute for the original. Just make sure you cut the new edge rather than just rippling it

Thanks Jeff.
Most helpful as you always are!

Craig-were you able to source this?

I think I have enough for one more B2. Let me check. Can'T remember where I sourced it>
