I am restoring a '69 GT R-code in Silver Jade. The PO left the stripes off after repainting. I would like to know what the correct stripe color would be for this car. I'm assuming either black or white. The car has a black interior. Thanks for your help.

This might be a little help ? Brian

Believe you could get any color stripe though the salesman would likely try and steering you to the "recommended" combinations shown above ;) Typical practice across the years and the vast majority of buyers opted to go with the suggested color.
Checked but don't have a picture of an original 69 Silver Jade GT to offer :(

I had an original M code 4 speed GT coupe a long time ago. Original paint car. Standard black interior. It was silver jade and the rare blacked out hood and the stripe was white. I wish I had never let that one out of my hands. That stripe guide doesn't list white with silver jade but I have seen it often. Unfortunately I never took any pictures of the car.

Here are a few pictures from my San Jose GT Cobra Jet 1969 Silver Jade w/ Black Interior when I purchased in 2004 prior to restoring. The original stripes were black.

On the eminger invoice at bottom was wrote out in ink( install black gt stripe) or something like that on a late 69 built red cj 4-speed r-code ragtop that was found in indy back years ago & being a late car the gt option was dropped but somebody still wanted the gt stripe. car is restored now & in south MT. So was it special ordered that way or added to car to help sell car or did OO order or think he was getting a gt only to find out the option was dropped when his car was built but they could easly install stripes at end of the line. Does anybody know the date when 69 gt option was dropped?

Hi Jim,
Where/when was your car built?
-
Ed,
I don't know when or if they stopped the GT option in 1969 on the Mustang, but over the last 10 years I put together
some records of 69 GT Mustangs. The below Vin #'s and dates of production are the latest I have from each of the
factories:
9F03M217545 built July 16,1969
9T02S209307 built June 10, 1969
9R02S156764 built March 21, 1969
