Title: Original tire sizes on '69 Mustangs
Post by: ragtop on January 29, 2017, 08:28:42 PM
I've been looking at the Coker Firestone Wide Oval radial RWL tires, and boy are they spendy, but I can't remember what size the Mustangs originally received if the wide oval option was ordered.  My memory says F70-14 but I looked at a chart over at the Coker site that showed most of the V8 cars got E70-14s.  Looked like the F70s were reserved for 428s.  Even the 390 cars showed as E70s.  Also, I noticed that the wide oval chart started with the 351W equipped cars.  Was the wide oval option not offered on 302s?  How would the F70s and/or E70s compare in size to the 215/70R14 BFG T/As I have on the car now?
