Title: 67 Tilt Column to Floor Seal Who sells it?
Post by: 67gtasanjose on April 22, 2017, 12:23:37 PM
Different than other 67 standard columns but I would think somebody has found one that works. Drake sells one for 69's that looks similar but it looks incorrect to me for a 67

I have what is pictured below.

...and WHAT is this??? https://www.npdlink.com/store/products/collar_steering_column_to_firewall-146141-1.html

Richard, I posted my findings on another thread a few months ago.  The NPD 69 version is not a good enough match for me. I used a nice original.   I may have one for you.   If my memory is good all non long shaft columns used the same two piece bracket.   Not just the tilts, making used ones not terribly hard to find. I did observe that they tend to get pinched or folded over during assembly

Thanks John. Did you click on the NPD link? I hadn't seen that product before. I remembered you were discussing this before at one point but thought you hit the wall on it. Maybe this thread should be combined? (Deleted?)

I did see that link.  Here are links to previous discussions

I did buy one of each type that NPD had to offer, but they just didn't come close enough to the original to satisfy me.  Even on a part that nobody will see.  To be clear though this disappointment is with the part and manufacturer, not with NPD.  If there's a better mousetrap I'm sure they would be open to it.

After all was said and done, I cleaned up and reused an original.  That is actually my preference, and probably that of most on this site.
