Title: 68 S-Code engine tag and decal
Post by: A12pilot on February 19, 2018, 10:59:21 PM
Hey guys,
My Dearborn 68 S-Code GT has an Engine code on the Buildsheet of 322J.  Would both the metal tag and valve cover decal have these numbers on them or would they be different?  Thanks guys!

Dave

Just for later when you get ready to stick the sticker ;)

Excellent!   Thanks Jeff.  Is ECS a good place for that decal?  And I thought it was on the valve cover?  And anyone have a good clear picture of one?   Waiting on the smog stuff to get here and I'll stab the motor/ trans in next month!   Just detailed up the rear and got that installed.

Cheers
Dave

If your ok with a vinyl sticker rather than something that uses paper as a base (with a clear overlay) like originals. There is a thread discussing the details

thought it was on the valve cover?

All depends on the year and engine

And anyone have a good clear picture of one?

If you mean legible one only seen factory photos of them and the resolution is so poor you can't make out all the markings/letters and details. Since they are paper they didn't always last with moisture, grease, oil and the elements working against them

Of the half dozen or so 68 big block ones they only indicate placement and alignment I believe
