Title: 'Correct' yellow top coil
Post by: sparky65 on February 19, 2011, 01:06:29 PM
I tried to order a 'concours approved' coil from NPD way back in September but apparently there is some difficulty in getting these from the factory.  I called again today and they still don't know when they may get them.  Anybody know what the problem is?  Are there alternatives or do I just wait this out?

I got a sales email from Virginia Classic Mustang touting their NEW IMPROVED concours yellow top that supposedly didn't have all the issues that the OLD ones had.

Well I ordered one and got it in a day or two.  Haven't got my engine in yet so how it works is unknown.

I bought an OEM coil that was very nice about a year ago from All Classic Mustang (http://www.allclassicmustang.com).  They have many NOS and used mustang parts for many years.  On the site today is listed the same coil I purchased for my 64 1/2:

Engine Coil 64 4ADB January 64, Fomoco original yellow top Mint paint & ink stamp, has mount bracket index button, Restored, $250

Try calling or emailing JD Larson who runs the site.  He also is listing the correct yellow top reproduction for $125 with ink stamp.
