Hi Guys
A friend is looking at a car over here in the UK. I think something is dodgy somewhere.
VIN 5F09C277773
63B J F5 02G 61 E 5.
Questions are -
Is this 2nd July 1964 build date ?
F5 is red / white pony int, which was not available until late Feb '65 ?
Was a two tone pony int available in '65 ?
Was an equa loc available for this year?
Anything else amiss?
Thanks

Probably a "made up" plate. That VIN would be around 02J - Sept. 64. Too early for pony int. too.

My fastback is 5f09C313194 and it has a build date of Sept 29 64.
+1 to what Brant said.

Thanks
I had a suspicion about the interior. But more concerning is, can a fastback have a biuld date of 2nd July 1964 ?
I see what Brant is saying though. If that VIN should be around September then the whole plate and possibly the car is a wrong 'un.
Cheers
Mark

Yes, you're right, 02G would be suspicious. The VIN falls into the alternator-car range, which began at 250001 at Dearborn, but most of those early cars have scheduled dates at the beginning of August '64.

Thank you
I will pass this info on.
