Title: Power Steering Pump Color
Post by: ChrisV289 on November 10, 2009, 09:17:58 PM
What color should the ford/Thompson pump be?  Should it be black or that light blueish green color? (65 mustang fastback, san jose, build 10/2/64)

Thanks,
Chris

Well the 67-70 Ford /Thompson pump was the blueish color and TRW was black not sure about 65 and 66 but would suspect it was the same. Bob

On a car that early, most definitely semi-gloss black.

I was afraid of that.  Just bought one and it was done really nice in that teal color...I'd hate to have it repainted.

When was the change over from Eaton to Ford pumps?
Shouldn't a 10/64 build be equiped with a Eaton pump?
Maybe someone added power steering after the car was built?
