Title: repo trunk lid
Post by: 1966 FB on January 05, 2012, 08:19:00 PM
I need a new trunk lid for my 1966 fastback but have been unable to find a good NOS.  Has anyone bought or worked with the repo's that are on the market.  It seems, going by price, that there are better ones and cheap ones.  Also, does anyone know if the repo's are the '66 style on the bottom or are they the 65 style.  I know the lids will fit both years but the bottom of the lids were different for '65 and '66.

Would recommend a good used original lid.

I went the route with several pieces of after market sheet metal.  The hood was the only original ford tooling and fit pretty good.  The other pieces all had to be modified (removing metal, adding metal etc) to fit correctly.

Thanks for your replies--I will continue to look for a used trunk lid
and only get a repo if all else fails.
