Title: 70 BOSS 302 POWER STEERING SPACER at head finish
Post by: app01 on March 27, 2013, 12:08:04 PM
May 70 Dearborn Boss 302

The MCA rules, section R, state that the power steering spacer that is between the pump bracket and head is natural Aluminum. All of the ones that I have seen (that I think are original) are steel with what appears to be a black phosphate  finish. Also the only repop ones  I have seen are steel with black phosphate.

Can someone please confirm what the material and finish is?

Thanks again,
Tony

I am going through a bunch of final details on my boss and  while searching I realized that I never confirmed this question years ago. The 2018 Rules Boss rules still indicate this as being Aluminum.

Thoughts on the material and finish?

Thanks again, Tony

Appear to be bare steel like other similar spacers. Number of pictures I have show rusty exterior surface on those.
