Topic: Brackets - Front Frame Rails for Sway Bar Clamps

Another running change item. Basic part number 5A483. This is the bracket for the sway bar clamps, it is welded to the front frame rails. I believe in the later part of the 1968 model year this part changed. The front edge is straight cut, and by June/July it began to have a curved cut on the front section. See comparison picture.

I have examples in my wrecking yard of both San Jose and Dearborn Cougars with miss-matched brackets, one of each. I would expect that the Mustangs also shared this trait? I don't have enough examples to draw a conclusion, but it looks like May for the Dearborn cars, and June for San Jose. This same bracket with the curved front edge was used late 1968-70.
