Based on what I've seen for this application, I would get the -S.
Your drawing is from a service manual, aka MPC, not an assembly line document. Service manuals typically left off the numbers after the -S as there was probably only one variation in stock (no choice).

Returning a little late to this discussion with a delayed reply; my car is a SJ 67 (Nov 66).  Can it be said at this point that these clips were used on 67 cars from all three plants?

I do not think I would assume that just yet. We seem to have some conflicting evidence so far IMHO (plastic or steel). I haven't heard anyone report finding steel on a San Jose yet, only Dearborn. NJ car pictured earlier isn't a clear enough image. Maybe somebody can zoom and crop/edit for clarity.

Looks like a great remedy to secure the underhood light wire which for now wants to go every which way as it routes from the cowl area to the right front solenoid.  Tempted to try those three clips anyway.

June, San Jose unrestored under hood courtesy group lamp & related wiring pictures.

Notice the late-design rolled lip openings in the hood and the Turn Signal later design harness (like used also in 68's).

The metal retainer at the lamp and the locator at the bottom of the hood, are not found in any aftermarket sources. The locator is molded around the wire originally. Getting one off a donor car can be a bit difficult too but if you do not destroy the locator, you can drill out the old, damaged wire slightly oversized and secure it to the Alloy Metal reproduction wire.
I believe I initially was looking for a factory lamp and eventually, I did come up with one. Using an original and the reproduction wire and fuse holder, I made a decent one up.
Again, you need hardware that isn't easy to find nor is it reproduced.

Uploaded a couple more pictures

Added another picture of the RH Shock tower brace clip.
It looks much more typical from the Standard Parts, doesn't much look like others posed on page 1 of this thread.

I'm not going back through this whole thread to find who wanted the front plastic clippie.

I think I can cut out the reinforcement on my junk 67 TS hood and get the plastic clip as noted in this pic. If you try to remove it without getting to the rear I think bad things will happen.

1st PM gets it. Please reply only if you want it on your car, not in your parts bin.

Is that wire going towards the left a factory under hood courtesy light wire?

Sorry, this is the clip for the factory 'turn signal hood' wiring. I skipped over too much of this thread.

Also this pic is a zoom-in on a pic in reply 54
