Oil Filler Screw in 65 9" Rearend

Hi guys

Can anybody kindly tell me how that 1/2" square socket plug (screw)
on the back of the 1965 hipo 9" rearend housing was coated?
Did they spray it black with the housing??

I'm seeing the plug in place when the rear housing was painted.
