Topic: 69 Mach1 VIN code and data tag.

Here is the VIN number and data tag off my car, I was hoping this will enable me to find out more specific info regarding my car. It was registered in the UK in September 1969, how were car's ordered for export, as far as I know no UK Ford dealer's were selling new Mustangs at the time.

Your DSO code is 90, which means it was designated as an export from the US.

You should order a deluxe Marti Report.  https://www.martiauto.com/martireports.cfm
It may have some order and destination information.

Agree with Scott. If this is all you have then a Marti report is the next step. I will at least give you a little more info but guessing (based on other export examples) not allot more.

We are assuming yu know how to decode the VIN and door tag already. If not let us know and that is an easy task 


Have you looked for or found the buck tag for the car??

As you can see in this 69 New Jersey export example they include the country of original destination

Thanks for the info, no buck tag, the car had been repainted 3 times here in the UK before I purchased it. It's going back to its original black jade. I have decoded the data tag so I know most of the car is still original apart from the engine, the 351W4v has been changed sometime in the past to a 351C4v HO, otherwise all the rest of the running gear seems to be original.
