Vent frame gasket replacement
« on: August 23, 2018, 04:25:59 PM »
I am placing the glass in my 65 Coupe vent frames back after the frames were rechromed at the pivot point.  I have new gasket material furnished by one of the aftermarket suppliers.  Any”secrets” to getting/the glass back in the frame?
Thanks.
Phil

The material is referred to as 'glass setting tape', and comes in a variety of thicknesses.  There's a vendor on ebay that usually sells it.

As far as installation goes, it's just a matter of using a little warm soapy water to help push it into place.  If there's excess material, use a new razor blade to trim it flat.

Thanks for the tip.  I’ll give it a try.
