Hey folks - just hopped on here after considering the restoration of my 65 daily driver.
Anyone have any clue as to the number of Honey Gold Metallic's that were produced in 1965?

I am considering going that route with this refresh, but I don't want to go to any crazy extreme if its more pain than its worth.

Thanks in advance!

First, welcome. You need to know that there are no assembly line statistics for any Ford made in 1966 and earlier. The best information you are going to get with respect to your color request, comes from the Mustang Production guide, Vol 1, and the numbers are from what was reported to the authors. Your answer is 5.5 percent reported. Any restoration is a long process. Don't get frustrated.

Welcome, I too have a 1965 Honey Gold Mustang Fastback built out of San Jose around 10/29/64.  I doubt there are many left this color.  What color interior do you have?

Sorry still learning-- just updated my signature

Dearborn is the Plant location -- not sure if it had power steering -- just know there was A/C. My uncle purchased it to rob the A/C for his 66 convertible.

Did they have Driver side interior door mounted controlled mirrors in 65 too? It was gobbled up to by the 66

There were remote mirrors available at that time. Your uncle knows the under dash units are different from 65 and 66?

Welcome.  Hope you find the information and assistance here helpful in your restoration projects

Honey Gold wasn't a very popular color back in 65 so you don't often see many today. Makes it a bit rare IMHO but that does not equal more valuable ;)

Unfortunately you will never really know until its all done - no one can foretell the future. Do it for yourself, if you choose, not for other reasons that way you will be less likely to regret time or effort spent
