Might be some bent up automatic transmission fluid lines.

To show progress and start wrapping this edition let me try the following. I invite others, now that we have identified individual items to share their knowledge and observations so that we can narrow down the possibilities. Will post two numbered pictures and arrow colors for each to better organize the possibilities.

Guess the Brown arrow in picture one (if original to the car) is the biggest give way to the cars model and would also support the general feeling that its a 65 or 66.

Put together with most of the other clues it would limit it to a specific year, type and even likely model of car.

To wrap this up the brown looking (brown arrow)  item at the bottom of picture #2 is sort of an odd angle of the item below. With cars in this condition others are often tossed or fall where every they can.

Notice the leather section with the rivet and washer.

Looks like only one item we noticed doesn't fully fit the "picture"

Well im going to take a stab at it, thinking that the alternator is not original to the car and seeing the seat belt with leather pad on it, the seat cover pattern a 66,front center grill joint cover, I think its a 66 Shelby automatic car,

The parking brake spring, if you look at it just right it looks like a cylinder, not a spring.
That's my excuse!

Later seat, long snap hook on Ray Brown belt make it an early 66. I think later cars got the short hook.
Agree, 66 GT350 Auto, if the flex plate is to be believed.

Picture in Reply #22 was just for you guys that didn't recognize what the little corner in picture one could be since not everyone here focuses on Shelby and their related differences. So those two pictures are not from the car but instead show details associated with the seat belts used. The location of the brown arrow is about where the seat belt would be attached, the let section could be the seat belt webbing from a folded side view and the brown patch the back side (natural finish) of the black dyed leather section on the buckle end of the belt. Buckle end and leather are attached with two very small headed rivets. This all for information and not from this specific car.

A shot of the full (in two ways :) of the interior has additional clues - exterior color and other items though again not all original to the car.

kcodecoupe- Believe you will find that this new picture confirms your conclusion.

Other than discussion I think this ran it's course and exercised a few minds a little bit.

Ya Hoo, do I win the car

Not mine to give    ::)  Just another I got a chance to look at when it was up for sale here locally. In fact there were three of the same for sale here locally all within 6 months of one another all in about the same condition (partially apart waiting or restoration started)

good chance it was a rental unit, and a set of koni shocks in the box as a bonus  .

Yes a Hertz car (pretty late one- within the last ten serial numbered)  so Koni's would not be correct and the ones new in the boxes were later NOS versions
