You can download your own copy of Ford Car Parts (aka MPC) from this website for free and get your answers. There are 45 files that are 430MB total in size.

According to my older Ford MPC that has not been updated since 1970, on purpose, here are my findings for 70 Mustang rear springs:

351  body style 63

body style 76 with improved handling package

8 cylinder 428

Boss 429

Ford part number C9ZZ 5560 C

730 pound load rating

2 yellow and 2 brown stripes

Interestingly the 70 Boss 302 has the lowest load rating of all 70 Mustangs at 550 pounds. The spring that you have is NOT for a Boss 302 based on the Ford MPC although your spring does have the highest load rating for all 70 Mustangs. There is no listing for improved handling suspension for a 70 Boss 302. Possibly your springs were changed earlier in the cars life?

All of this information does also show up in the May 1975 final edition of the Ford MPC.

The number matches the rear springs used on 351, 428CJ & Boss 9 Mustangs during 1970 production.

For more information you will want to check that same surface but closer to the upper (in your picture) edge of that spring for the date code.

I include the build date of my cars in my sig.

Answering every post with your build date might get old without a similar sig.
