Toploader 4th gear feels weird going in

My toploader goes into 4th gear kind of weird feeling: from 3rd to 4th there is no "click" in neutral and from neutral to 4th it feels like there is nothing there.....does this description make sense? basicly from 3rd to 4th there is no resistance......any ideas?

I asked Bill Heeley (the shifter guy) if it could be an improperly installed or adjusted shifter causing this and he said no.
I have also sent an Email to David Kee who rebiult my trans and have gotten no answer so far so I'm going to call him on Monday.
the shift from 3rd to 4th just feels weird-thats all I can say......like there is no resistance......any ideas??
