Stainless windshield trim vendor recommendations?

(1/2) > >>

Shineycarb:
Hi everyone
My 68 plain Jane, Wimbledon coupe with I6 is in the paint shop now and I want to replace the stainless windshield and back glass trim; possibly the door rails and 1/4 panel trim too.  There are so many sources & companies that sell these parts.  I was just wondering if anybody had recently purchased these items and could recommend a source for good fitting quality moldings.  Generally I?ve had luck with Scott Drake in the past but it seems lately their parts all come from China and the quality has suffered.
Thanx, Dave

Generally, you are better off repairing original SS moldings. I have heard the new drip rail moldings are not too bad. If your moldings are missing or too bad to repair, I would look for useable originals.

+1 the stainless steel trim is about the most durable part on the car.  I've taken these off cars sitting outside for over 40 years, ones with Fred Flintstone floor pans, and the trim can be made to look like new.  What is your location?  That might help with some suggested places near you that do this as a service.

Bob Gaines:
+1 for above posts. Still probably thousands and thousands of potential donors.

I am in Virginia, about two hours from Richmond.
