Floorpan drain seam sealer
« on: April 16, 2013, 10:15:43 AM »
January 1972, Dearborn Mach 1

Trying to gain a consensus on the type and color of seam sealer used on the floor drain plugs.  Mine had rotted out so I had nothing to go buy years ago.  I have input that it could be black ribbon caulk or beige.  I will be doing the faux galvanizing before installation of the plugs.  Would the sealer be visible from under the car as possibly dripping down from the plug hole?  Thank you

Typically most used the 3M chalking strips (cord seal) Comes in a box with a bunch of individual strips of the product. Its black and matches the original pretty well

Has plenty of other uses and applications. You'll find other references on this site if you use the search feature I believe
