upper A arms shaft color '68 GT 500

what would be the correct finish on the upper control arm SHAFTS , I have a set of NOS the are semi gloss black .

Typically would be a dark heat-treated appearance.

+1 ,bare metal no paint from the factory. Not too dark of a appearance IMO . Some of the service units were painted semigloss blk and some other service units were a extremely dark plated finish that was so dark it almost looked painted black.
