Best 5/16" fuel hose to work with spring band clamps

I got some original 5/16"spring band clamps (with square tabs) for a built in San Jose in April 67 289 coupe. The clamps are not very tight around the new fuel hose. Does anyone know of a 5/16" fuel hose that has a thicker wall so the spring clamps will be tighter?  Should the hose have GAS stamped on it?
