Unusual nut
« on: October 31, 2013, 12:51:47 AM »
I am reassembling my April 65 Dearborn fastback that I pulled down 5 years ago.

Two of the nuts (5/16") I had stored with the front coil spring covers look like this:

I am guessing this wasn't actually used to retain the spring cover and a previous owner used it in this location.

My question is; typically where might a nut of this type have been used?

Thanks!

Looks like the nut/washer that holds the seat to the floor.

Also see them used to secure the sides of the fenders.  Accessed through a hole behind the kick panels... rubber plug gains access.
