Power steering cooler
« on: February 05, 2014, 07:42:58 PM »
Can anyone tell me where to get a new PS cooler or where I can send this one to be restored?  Did these come on mustangs as well as cougars?

Thanks

Yes Mustangs as well as Cougars. They are being reproduced even with the same makers mark. They are not inexpensive.  I can't remember where I saw on recently. Try NPD or Mansfield Mustang. If it were me I  would seal the ends and bead blast it first then carefully straighten the fins with a fin tool from eastwood.  Re paint and i bet you would be surprised . If you don't do that type of work the repros are nice.

Straitening tool for the fins can be purchased at your local home store, a good hardware store,  any heating/AC supply. No need to waste the money on shipping & own it at your convenience.

Thanks For everyone's response. I'll give the cleanup a try.
After the bead blast what is the correct finish?
Thanks.

semi-gloss black - going to have to apply from a bunch of angles to get full coverage ;)
