I am looking for a correct jack handle for my 69 mustang. Does anyone have information about the date stamp on the jack handle ?

Yes, most don't have any date codes. Some did but most handles were not date marked leaving the style as the identifying factor for plant usage. IF you find a date code it will most likely be on the jack itself and even then the date wasn't on everyone. I have dozens of the handles for the longer style 67-69 jacks and only one or two maybe have dates. There is a very informative well done article (although I respectfully disagree with his dated everything assessment) that is in the library section you should read.

I looked at some jack handle's on ebay and found some date code's
-ZF9
-ZE9
The code reads as follows. (information from anghelrestorations)
Z for Mustang
E May
9 1969
My mustang was produced at October 25 1968. So the date code of the correct handle should probably be ZI9 or ZJ9.

Ford did not use the letter I in date coding so H to J for August-Sept. The jacks and handles can be several months prior to the car build all the way up to just weeks.

The jack handle that came with my 69 car is stamped with ' A ' and no date. The jack is stamped B 7 and ' A '. Brian

Brian - The "A" stamp is for Ausco who was the manufacturer of the jack handle. Very few of the handles themselves have date codes and Ausco jack handles typically have no date codes.
