Title: Door interior color on underside at weatherstrip - 68 San Jose
Post by: Murf on September 18, 2017, 01:05:40 PM
Looking for images of underside of door showing interior color paint line in relation to weather strip.  Attempted to use search feature but no luck.  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks

did you use the term 'transition' or 'paint transition' in your search??

Yes, used both terms along with those words along with interior door,  and weatherstrip.  Seems "search" shows me no respect at times.

A hint - use "quotes" around two words - eg. "door weatherstrip" (actually weather strip is correctly two words), for a more concise search. Without the quotes, you will get every post with "door" and every post with "weatherstrip" (or "weather strip") in your search request.

Year and plant might help as well.

I seem to get varying results, depending on where I initiated the search from and whether or not I search specific boards.

Although this is from a 66, the basic design should still be correct:

John is this for the 68 Calif Special?

Another place to look for details such as this is the unrestored threads while focusing on cars from the same plant and year.

IF for a 68 I found the following using unrestored San Jose 68 with my screen name since I'm the one that typically have posted these treads

With that search I found the following - each with pictures of the paint detail at the bottom of the doors. Remember that the interior was painted first, masked, then the exterior color applied. Also be aware of the interior paint details at the top and top rear of the surfaces also ;)

Yes, California special is the car, scheduled build date of 03 April, 1968 at the San Jose plant.  Sorry for leaving out the important data.  155374 is the VIN.  Standard interior.

Hello,

Is it usefull that I add picture details of my 67 SJ car?
Before uploading them, please advice since you demand '68
Another possibility is that I make a new thread for 67 ?
Kind regards,
Jeroen

Likely better to move or start fresh ;)   Or add to an already established tread discussing the same detail, plant and year.
