1968 Mustang / Re: Spare Tire Trunk/Gas Tank Board
« Last post by wll17057 on Today at 08:40:39 PM »
Thanks to David Knab for the picture of the trunk board.

Although it's a minor detail, I want to install a trunk board in our 1968 Metuchen Coupe.  After reading some of the associated posts, the board was intended to protect the tank from the jack (?).  Can anyone tell me what the board was made of, and the dimensions?  I haven't found any in supplier websites and it seems easy enough to make.  I have the original trunk mat, and want to add the board.

Thanks everyone.

1964 1/2 - 1965 / Re: Holes in dash
« Last post by birddog on Today at 08:37:48 PM »
I got some dash holes welded. The first picture is directly under the ignition switch. Going off J-speegle pictures. The green circle is an under dash light. The red is not used. The other two look like clean holes. Are these factory or add on?s

The second picture is directly under the glovebox. The green circle is obviously factory. The next hole closest looks like maybe a factory hole. A little worn out. And the furthest red circle is the same size as the first but more worn and maybe rusted out. Are the red circles factory? Thanks.

1964 1/2 - 1965 / Unusual 64.5-Early 65 Lug Wrench
« Last post by s2ms on Today at 07:27:32 PM »
Came across an ebay auction, https://www.ebay.com/itm/135043221468, with an early style open handle lug wrench I had not seen before, #1 in the photo below with a plate on the back covering the socket opening. Anyone know that this is for?

A quick search showed only one other thread with a photo of one of these but no discussion.....https://www.concoursmustang.com/forum/index.php?topic=19491.

Thanks,
Dave

Hi Josh, welcome to the site. I agree that the piping looks off on the TMI covers. Sadly, that is often the case with reproduction materials, close is good enough. If you want it right, you may have to look for NOS materials. That also is not always easy either. Distinctive is another company that makes covers. You may want to ask them for a sample.
