Title: Help decoding 66 fog light date code
Post by: sgl66 on July 18, 2015, 07:38:06 PM
Any ideas? I can't find anything online for how to read this. Closest I can find is http://www.mustangtek.com/FordDecodePlus.html

Thanks in advance

My guess, and it's only that - a guess, is 2nd week in October. That's if it's marked clockwise as we're looking at it. If the person marking the die/mold was going clockwise, then it's reversed on the part which would then appear to be 1st week in July.

There's 12 divisions, and no more than four marks in any of them (granted a very small sample size). Sure points toward a month/week system, but I may have misinterpreted whether the "ticks" or the "spaces" represent the months. Does "0" = January, or is the first space = January?

Yes the 9 "ticks" or "pimples" as well as the different sized marks,  is the confusing part. IMHO

Way too many possibilities - all with their "problems"

This is where all the multiple sub contractors and vendor's dating systems just add confusion to the idea of decoding

Thanks guys,

If anyone out there has a known set of originals to the car, it should be easy to snap a picture using an iPhone in selfie mode....dates are at the bottom of the casting.
