1967 428 Oil Pan Color
« on: July 06, 2021, 01:29:18 PM »
I did my search here and am not sure if the original oil pan for the 428 in 1967 was painted all Ford blue or just caught the overspray of the Ford blue from the engine block? Thanks

The pan was completely painted Ford Blue while the engine assembly was being painted. The exhaust manifolds got minimal overspray if at all.The timing cover behind the waterpump got minimal coating because the waterpump blocked the spray . Many restorers will paint behind first then install the waterpump.
