67 Shelby's came to the SA factory without trunklids . There was no taking anything off. SA had to add a trunk light on the cars that got them . On Shelby's typically only early cars and some late cars got trunk lights for what ever reason.

So this is an unused trunk light wire? Or something else that I am missing?

On a fastback, there's wiring that runs over the upper back trunk area for the RH side courtesy light.

That may be a feature of another year. The 67 comes off the A-piller dome light switch, under the sill plate and then to the light.

I should add that 67 Shelbys had the Courtesy Light Group. As part of this option this wire is run as a traveler taped to the rear harness for the light but not always used. See Bob's post about the trunk light.

From the assembly manual (and others) there appear to be no wires built into the harness.
I suspect if there was a 67 fastback (not coupe) option for the defrost it was a standalone harness. I've seen 68 fastback rear defrost systems but 67?
Does a 67 factory fastback defrost system exist?

Not a 67 Shelby Unique Option...any 67 Mustang could be ordered with the Courtesy Group,  and yes (at least on Mustangs) it is a traveler wire taped to the harness every 12 or so inches apart, it connects at the drivers dome light switch within the A-pillar.

Don't believe so - think its a 68 only thing that didn't sell well
