HIPO distributor with no stampings
« on: March 09, 2023, 05:12:29 PM »
Recently bought an Autolite HIPO dual point distributor but it  has no date code or stampings other than the 12127 on it? There is nothing stamped on the shaft of the housing either, like the C5OF. I assume it is an over the counter replacement, but is this normal??

It is not typical but I have had a few.The ones I had were blank for the prefix and the date info. I have had at least one NOS one that was like that for a BB duel point. I don't know if it is only service parts or not because the others that I have had were used so I can't tell if they started life as service parts or not.

That is really common on Motorcraft housings.
