1969 B2 Starter Part #

<< < (2/3) > >>

Bob Gaines:
You will find 30 C9AF-11001-B or more marked starter cases to every 1 marked C7AF-11001-F. Keep in mind that most original starters have been rebuilt at least once by now. Rebuilders did not care or pay attention to what was marked on the case so you may find the correct marked 302 4 speed case but it may be built around a FE 3 ear nose cone etc.

Bob that is true for most used and remanufactured parts, it is the difference between what fits and what is correct. Finding a D0AF-C for my 70 was certainly a challenge, I purchased several old starters to get all the correct pieces to assemble a working original.

Bob Gaines:
The unique 4 speed nose cone that was used starting in 68 is the second hardest piece to find after the correct marked case. I pick them up whenever I see a core with one.

Bossbill:
I seem to recall that the block plate opening and nose diameter where it fits into the plate were a different size than earlier starter noses.
Do we have the diameter of the nose where it fit into the blockplate opening?

Not a problem if you use the correct 68 and up block plate and bellhousing with the correct 68 and up 164 flywheel.
