I have seen and had plenty of Early 70s with Glue In Glass dated correctly. Latest I've seen is an October 69 build with Glue In, that was in a 70 Cougar Eliminator. I have never seen a 69 with Bolt-Ins that were Factory.

I hesistate to speculate on what you found other then to doubt it's originality to your particular car. It appears to be a mystery however I still contend that your Shelby originally came with glued in glass. The date although perplexing does not asure that it came originally on the car. I respectfully would like to remind you of all of the other 70 changed out interior items as well as other out of the ordinary aspects that have been dicussed in different threads about your 70 Shelby so you are not exactly dealing with a undisturbed context the glass is found in.

driver's door panel  seems to be the only changed out item.  maybe pass was done too- i can check the uttica date on back side  9E with bolt holes.  that as you say is perplexing but it is what it is.   still had orig carpet

Another way to check if glass has been changed is if the door paper watershield behind door panel has been tore or removed as it is hard to get off without tearing & has to be removed to get to door glass.

I'm not sure if Ford Service Glass was available in 1979 for Bolt-Ins. Service Glass is dated year-month it was produced in also. For instance, I have seen a lot of Glue-In Glass dated Mid-70s, like 3A or 5L. Non-Ford Replacement Glass can also always be etched if someone wanted to take the time to create that small of a template. I seem to recall hearing about recently made Glass with etched Carlite logos, but not sure if I recall correctly on that or if they included customer requested Date Codes.

That is definitely a bolt-in window. I have a LH Fastback Glue-In Glass here right now that also has a '9E' Date Code.
