1970 gas tank drain?
« on: May 04, 2012, 12:45:15 PM »
would my  70 gt500 have a drain in tank?   orig tank would have been changed out because it's a  california dso car.  so it had to have the evap stuff installed- did the tank used come with drain or not.   made late june 69 sold dec 69  mca rules says 70- no plug but maybe calif dso an exception.  thanks

Sorry, I don't know your answer on the evap tank. But I would also like to ask as it pertains to the posting title, I have read that early 70's would also have a drain, for example my Sept 69 built 70 should have a drain, is this correct?

Since this is asked in the 69/70 Shelby section I will answer in that context. NO drain plug for 70 Shelby.I think you should pose this question in another section if not Shelby related as the answer may be different.

Answered in the context of a non CA emmision car. Since there is no repro that I am aware of to confuse with you should be safe with what you find used or If lucky new IMHO.
