Title: Finishing on these miscellaneous parts?
Post by: evantugby on February 17, 2018, 04:40:01 PM
Gentlemen, couple miscellaneous parts that I want to know how they need to be finished. Do any of them get paint or do any of them get something else?

Watrpump plate is painted engine color with pump on engine, Thermostat housing painted engine blue (even on GT350),accelerator bracket P/O, Alternator adjusting arm is semi gloss black, clutch adjusting rod is bare steel and so is E brake arm.

Bob, Caspian
Thank you very much!

I'll wait to paint the semi-gloss components with the same spray as the engine bay.

a tip....that alternator bracket is not the same s/g color as the block. remember that each black component was painted at it's point of manufacture of which each used a different gloss level. you don't want to have the same color (shade) of black on all black parts.

He has a '66... so should be ok.  Great advice though.

Most of those brackets are dipped in SG black. A different finish happens.

Great insight on the different shades of SG black!  Perhaps I should hit it with my rattle can so it looks a little different then when I hit the engine bay with SG black sprayed.
