I am really looking forward to showing the 72 Mach 1 at this years MCACN show in Chicago. It will be judged as concourse and I am sure Mr. Perkins will have a top notch selection of judges for Pinnacle judging at the show. This is a show I have always heard about, but never had the chance to attend. To be able to attend this year and bring my car for judging is truly a bucket list opportunity. If you are in the area and available the weekend before Thanksgiving maybe think about going to the show. They will have Lil Red, Green Hornet, and the Bullitt mustang all participating. I am really looking forward to the show. Maybe not the 11 hour drive, but definitely the show.

Wish I could go this year, but didn't work out. Enjoy!!
-
They are supposed to have the Freshly Restored "Green Hornet" there too. Perhaps some updates on Lil' Red?
-
My friend's one of one 68 Hemi Super Bee will be unveiled there with some other rare Mopars by The Finer Details. It was the last Super Bee made that year and the only one that gold color
-
I have read on the MCACN site about that Super Bee. It will be nice to see. While I am not in the league of these 1 of 1 cars, it will be great to be on the show floor with them. My 1 of 165 351-2V is not a big block "muscle car", but still my pride and joy and it will be cool to see all of these low production and Barn Find cars revealed.

Little Red will be there in "as Found " condition. Restoration will not be started until after the show sometime Jason Billups the restorer tells me.

DANG! I was on the fence on whether or not to go, only 6 hours away. I think I'll call the kennel for 'the kids' and begin planning now...
I struggled with the idea "Once Upon A Time", to convert my Coupe to a Shelby version...but there weren't any known to be in existence so the idea was scrapped. I am 100% sure that had I ever seen "Little Red" or had even ever heard about it...I may have at least considered making a Clone of it! The B & W images I have seen so far of it back in the day (Riverside), do not do it justice. I think that must have been a REALLY sharp Prototype!

No need to build a clone. You could buy a 68 GT/CS or a HCS. I just happen to have one for sale in the classifieds :D

Getting ready to head out tomorrow for Chicago. The weather forecast does not look good for towing a trailer on Thursday. Fortunately my and my wife's work schedules permitted for some flexibility. Spent the past weekend finishing up the cleaning. Praying for a safe road trip to and from and a great show experience while there.

Tickets are bought...going as an observer.
I'll be taking the Indy Turnpike, I-90 Ohio/Indy state line across, so if anyone wants to tag along and can get to one of the exits on their own...lemme know!
We'll be there just the one day, from 9:30 am, heading back at about dusk.
-
Might be heading there with a few guys from the club. It came up at last night's meeting.
-
I will be there
-
Have a funeral of a good close - long term friend so will not be attending. Safe journeys for all traveling

We made it to the unveiling of Little Red.
...also a nice job on The Green Hornet.

Green Hornet

Was the green hornet a Dearborn or Metuchen car? The shock tower caps are phosphate & oil. I thought it was a San Jose car.

Looks pretty solid. I've restored far worse looking projects that had far less upside potential. Thanks for sharing!

Yes
I'll post a few more pictures tomorrow. It's been a 21-hour day for me so I'm laying down now.

Smart Phone pictures. The lighting in the facility wasn't cooperative. I tried different angles with and without Flash really didn't seem to help any. Of course every picture I took was trying to work around 30 to 50 other spectators...or more.

I can only imagine. Thanks for the images, wish I was there.

New to the Forum sorry I missed LiL Red have a real passion for that car
-
Unfortunately my friend’s Superbee was not completed in time. Came close but they didn’t want to show the car incomplete.
-
Well, if you like Little Red, you should start planning to go in 2019, it will there fully restored.
I understand that will be in full 1967 trim with at least one supercharger. Unfortunately, the 68 parts will be relegated to display for now.
I know Craig has collected several never before seen photographs.
This is the easiest show to go to. Its across the street from Ohare. You dont need a rental car. All the hotels are connected to the venue.
