Greetings,
Did 71-73 mustangs ever come with no console at all, or was it only sold with either the full length or shorty?
Just wondering.
Thanks

I have a friend with a 1972 Fastback and it had no console of any type. Mark

Don't recall or have pictures of any without one or the other. Would be easy enough to leave one off when redoing the carper or fixing up the car.

The standard inclusion in all '71-3 mustang's was the "mini console". Of course, You might have been able to special order a car back in the day with no console whatsoever, paperwork would show the deletion.

Thanks guys. I was just curious because there is no mention of console on my Marti Report or dealer invoice.

If an item is part of a package or standard equipment it was not shown in the data fields and in turn will not be listed in the Marti report. We see this on many cars. Example is 67 390 cars with automatic transmissions got the heavy duty battery but it will not be listed separately in a Marti report or Ford data while on a A or C code Mustang the upgraded battery is.
Of course allot of owners have added or removed consoles over the year. They were a popular item added during allot of restorations. In the 80s and 90's refinished hundreds and sold them at swap meets for this purpose.
