A/C Compressor Roto Lock Valve Teflon Ring
« on: March 23, 2024, 09:52:40 PM »
The teflon rings that came with the Original Air Group Roto Lock valves through NPD (1) "seem" too large in diameter, and it also appears (2) not deep/thick enough to extend past the surface of the threaded boss.

On the pump boss I'm measuring an opening of about 0.654" whereas the OD of the teflon ring is 0.750".  It is too large to force into place, the distortion when I try looks abby normal to me.

Any words of wisdom or recommendations? TIA

To close the loop on this one, I had purchased an NOS 1968+ version valve plate (19656) and installed the 1968+ matching head (2995) thinking that I was going to make out ok.  It turns out that I overlooked the service valve seal style which changed from the 1960-1967 Rotolock (with teflon seal) to a Tube-O design (with O-Ring).  So out came the compressor.  I have a couple of heads, but the valve plates are questionable, so have a correct NOS one on the way.   But I did save about $50 the first time around lol.
