Time to paint 1970 GT500

1970 GT500 #2450

My assembly is complete and now I need to paint. How can I find out what the original colour was? The build sheet is useless as it was destroyed by an oil leak (line to the gauge)  the previous owner never noticed until too late. The car looks white but could be pastel grey and I don't want to guess. To my untrained eye I would hardly recognise the difference unless they were side by side.

Hoping some one can steer me straight.

Door tag doesn't list the paint code?
Order a Marti Report.
Shelby Registry may help.

Door sticker in the case of a 1970 Shelby. Also if a grabber color it would be left blank on a 70 Shelby door sticker . That is if the sticker is still there. If the door was changed it may not be even there.

Door tags, in fact all tags and stickers, were removed from the car way back before I got it. I do mean WAY back, like in the early 70's. Regardless, a Marti Report does seem like a good option.

Does the registry contain such information on vehicles?

Thanks,

Dooley.
