Title: 1967 390 without AC and with CA Emissions engine questions
Post by: travnemi on October 01, 2014, 11:41:05 PM
I'm putting together my 1967 390 w/o AC and with CA Emission system on it(build date dec. 1966). I want to make it as concourse as possible. Are the any pictures out there of complete motors?
I need to know;
 1- are all the brackets are painted or natural steel w/o paint.
 2- what color is the power steering pump
 3- are the smog tubes painted blue
 4- are the smog fittings that are mounted to the intake painted blue

any additional info would be greatly appreciated

A lot of questions you have might be answered here within this thread below as well as other threads here at Concours. Keep in mind this thread below is for a SHELBY 500, so some things are VERY different, yet many things are the same. I'm fairly sure Jeff will chime in and he should have help available (time permitting) in answering all of your questions. In the meantime, read this thread and do a search with "390" and "Thermactor" and choose for the 67 model cars, you'll find it has been discussed before at length.

Which brackets?  Way too many brackets to give a blanket response

2- what color is the power steering pump

Depends on who made the pump - check the tag on the back and get back with the info there

3- are the smog tubes painted blue

Yes on engine when painted

4- are the smog fittings that are mounted to the intake painted blue

What "smog" fittings are you referring to? There are vacuum lines and fittings that are connected to the intake but they are not really Thermactor items. Not sure of any "smog fittings" that connect directly to the intake manifold right this moment
