Title: Spark Plug Restoration
Post by: s2ms on August 25, 2009, 03:10:19 PM
Can anyone please recommend a method to restore NOS spark plugs that have surface rust but are in otherwise great shape? I wire wheeled the metal surface but now they look too bright and silver. Will gun bluing work?

Thanks,
Dave

Yes - a great use for the liquid or the paste versions. Remember to oil or wax well after to protect against the recurrence of rust

Thanks Jeff. If the plugs are installed will the bluing treatment hold up to the engine heat?

In my experience - yes.
