Post by: C5ZZKGT on April 28, 2012, 08:43:48 PM
'86 GT Convertible: Should it have the plastic strip or folded over material on the outside strip at the rear most bow? how about the end pieces-what shape should they be?

Hi C5ZZ

I asked a friend of mine who has an 86 Vert and this is what he said.  God bless

"Mine is canvas and has a sewn together strip with metal arrows with screws in them at the ends"

Is this what you wanted to know?  Thanks

Should have the plastic strip with stainless ends.  Think it was 1990 when the piece was deleted.

As far as I know, Ford didn't use the fold-over material for the rear bow on Mustangs, yet they come in all the replacement top kits.

My 1990 Convertible has the Strip with Stainless ends. My 93 Convertible does not have it.
