........Here is the drawing of what the front retainer should look like.

What is the date on that page from the assembly manual if you would?   Might be another 67 running changes - possible?   So many details are different in the manuals when compared to real cars I am hesitant to take the book as gospel or the final word by itself

Thanks Marty - at least that puts a date on what Ford was thinking/planning

According to the 1967 sales literature, the front shoulder harness was available with convertibles too - does anybody have photos of one?

The assembly manual has sketchings...they connect under the top of the backseat to a hole (presumably pre-drilled) and the strap runs out between the seatback and the quarter trim.

HA! John, I thought of you right away when I saw Groundpounder's list of options! I figured it wouldn't escape you to ask ;)

I have a question about this option POSED AT COUPES.

I see the holes for REAR SEAT SHOULDER HARNESSES, were they ever available on the 67's on COUPES or maybe this was something for COUGARS?

According to pages 38 and 39 of the showroom option book, it appears that they were available on all models.  They are attached.

I had to turn my head sideways, but I see no mention of shoulder harnesses for the REAR SEATS

Oh - I did not read your post closely enough.  You switched gears to rear belts.  I would say that no rear seat belts were available in the 60's Mustangs.  Actually they were probably not available until well into the 90's come to think of it.

Send pics from your car for clarity.  If you can get in one shot where the front would be attached, and also where you think there is a hold for a rear seat belt attachment, that would be good.

OOPS! My bad, The REAR SEAT shoulder harness holes were only in the 68 coupes NOT on the 67 coupes. As far as a Coupe's front shoulder belt location, the holes are just like the fasback versions already pictured (and present whether or not originally equipped with the shoulder harness option). If somebody wants to do a thread for the 68 Mustang shoulder harness's I'd supply images for the rear deck location of where shoulder strap may have come on the coupes. (or could be put in). I'll try better to stay on topic ;)

Sorry to drag this one up, but when looking at the 7R02S202xxx pictures that Jeff posted, I noticed that there are no coat hangers, whereas 7R02S104xxx does.  I see that 7F02K156xxx has coat hangers but they are behind the belt attachment point.

It also looks like 7R02S104xxx is attached much further back than the other two.

Finally I can add one more car to the discussion, 7R02C176xxx.  Located like the 156 and 202 car, and no coat hanger.

I did a review of the 67 and 68 Body and Interior manuals with respect to the coat hooks and shoulder belts, and found no drawing with both the coat hook and harness shown together. (I included the 68 just for an additional reference.)
OT: Another oddity was no 68 convertible coat hook documentation was included in the 68 manuals.
