1967 Midland-Ross Power Booster ( Low engine vacuum)
« on: November 27, 2016, 08:23:16 AM »
I seemed to remember reading a thread here where there was someone who made modifications to the power brake vacuum boosters that assisted with engines that produced low amounts of vacuum at idle. I really don't want to go the vacuum pump route. They're noisy and would be hard to hide.

Can anyone provide a lead or possible remedy?

Keith, as I recall the mention in the post was Booster Dewey who set up the booster.  May want to check with them.

67350,That's it! I couldn't remember who it was, but that was what I recalled as well. Now to find the contact information. I think I'd rather go ahead and do what can be done preemptively speaking.  I was looking for the dyno paperwork, I think that showed vacuum at idle.  However, the cam is a split profile with 232 Int/240 Exh, .558 Int/.567 exh on 112 lobe center. Not terribly radical. It was a custom grind that is supposed to help with just this issue.
My spouse is a flight attendant and has a horrible habit of moving things I am working with when she pops in, so I guess when I am up to taking everything out of the gun safe and the document safe, I'll have my answer.
