Fan Shroud for 1968 Ranchero

(1/1)

76CobraII:
New to forum so sorry if I break rules.
I bought a 1968 Ranchero. It is basically all original and complete so I decided to do a semi concours restoration on it.
I also have dealer installed AC which I would like to leave. I am looking for an original fan shroud. My car is a 289 with power steering and the dealer installed AC. I still have my original Fomoco radiator but no shroud.
I found this one on ebay. Does it look correct?

If this was posted in the wrong location it will be moved, no worries.

According to the MPC, and assuming that the Ranchero aligns with Fairlane/Torino (safe assumption IMO), you are looking for a C5OZ-8146-A.  It is listed as "one-piece type-steel".  Based on that it appears the part you listed has a likelihood of being correct.   Since the description explicitly includes the 68 Ranchero, you have eBay buyer protection if you get it and it does not fit.  But you should check it right away and not wait weeks/months.

The previous statement would be for factory AC - there is no listing here for the dealer "hang-on" type.  I need to look for that in the kit section.

J_Speegle:
Maybe you can get the seller to look for and provide the engineering number from the part.

Though it is difficult to see details once installed in the car since you are a new member guess you didn't see the pictures of the 68 small block Torino in the unrestored picture section of the site. It appears to have its original shroud but again hard to see details once installed

Did want to welcome you to the site

76CobraII:
I did actually see the picture of that unrestored car but like you said I cannot tell. The seller gave me the number C9OZ-8146-B but said it doesn't say it on the shroud itself. If it does not say it he may be incorrect. I asked him were he got this information and will wait for a response.

Update:
I got a response saying that the number he gave my is the engineering number for 1966-69 models. I believe he is incorrect on this as that is not the right number for years before 1968. I think the shroud is correct though and I bought it.

76CobraII:
Is there any chance someone has a concours restored car or an all original car with pics of there shroud? I saw the picture of the low mile car on here but I cannot really see the shroud.
Thanks,
Chris
