Looking for "correct" Early C4 Transmission pan gasket.

Subject: Looking for "correct" Early C4 Transmission pan gasket.

I've been looking for these for a few years now ith no luck.  The ones that most of the vendors sell are incorrect in my believe.  I wish that I had some pics of a correct one, but I'll have to do some digging.  The early C4 tranny pan gasket was definately different for the later C4 tranny pan gaskets......and all the vendor I see selling C4 gaskets sell the later ones....even NPD...

The original early C4 tranny pan gasket was almost completely rectangular with no "bump" or indentation in the gasket like the later C4 gaskets.  I removed a correct gasket from my tranny a few years ago, and have'nt found one like it since..

Anyone no where to find the correct EArly C4 Tranny pan gaskets??

Please respond.  Thanks,

Tony K.

I think I would buy a roll of cork material and make my own (or at least a half dozen while I was at it ;)

Yeah, Jeff, You'd figure that somone would be selling these things now... Maybe I'll get lucky and Brant from VA Mustang will look into it.  Been looking for these for years.  I can't remember if I saved my old gasket or not..  Definately a needed item!  The later C4 gasket just does'nt seal right because of the extra "bump". Of course, That's where it leaks.. at the "bump" spot... :-\

Try finding DODZ-7A191-B gasket. This looks close to the correct gasket with eleven holes. Make sure you also get the right filter as they are like the pan gasket and are generic. Jeff is right, these are very easy to fabricate. Clean out bolt holes good and put small amount of Permatex on the bolts and just snug them down and re tighten after it gets hot. These transmissions love to leak. Hope this helps....

Yes!  That is close to the original gasket with no inner indentation!  Great guide.  Thanks for posting it!
