289 HiPo valve train parts
« on: December 08, 2021, 02:29:39 PM »
NPD and others are listing replacement valve springs for the 289 HiPo.
These look pretty good since they have the inner flat wound damper.
Any clue as to the source? I do not want an offshore valve spring.

There are also listings for the replacement HiPo cam and lifters.
Comments on quality there too?

I could just source a reground cam from Delta Cams since they are nearby...

You have two options, call NPD in Ventura and ask, or send a PM to Scott302 on this forum and ask.

I want to know the specs of this thing too.
Things like load at installed height, diameter, etc.

The closest I can come to a replacement is the Crane Cam 942.

+1 on sending a PM. Always helpful but like everything you don't want to over use a resource :)

Part of the issue here is that Sealed Power (the NPD spring) is part of Federal Mogul.
Federal Mogul has sucked in many different brands.
But the line created by Sealed Power for older cars is called Sealed Power Vintage.
The website listed by FM and Saled Power is called  www.sealedpowervintage.com
They've been hacked. So no data.

Scott did reply -- and I thank you -- that the springs are almost identical to Ford published specs.

Great was sure he would

And thanks for the topic as I need to get one or two sets of heads done. Not sure if I'll be replacing all the springs but at least there is now shared information to base choices on
